These beauties are known for their massive, creamy white blooms that can turn any garden into a stunning landscape. If you’re looking to give your garden a boost with these show-stoppers, I’ve got some tips and tricks to help you cultivate those big, beautiful blooms!

I planted these Hydrangeas 5 years ago. I purchased these in 3 gallon pots. They have grown very quickly. Annabelles are easily my favorite flower in my landscaping. They really make my landscaping stand out. They have such beautiful green foliage and huge, white flowers that can reach up to 12 inches in diameter. They bloom in mid-summer and can last until the first frost, providing you with months of gorgeous floral display.

Choosing the Right Location:
Before planting your Annabelle hydrangeas, it’s important to select the right spot in your garden. These beauties thrive in well-drained soil and prefer a location that gets partial sunlight – ideally, around 4 to 6 hours of sun daily. A little afternoon shade can help protect them from the intense heat. If you’re in a hotter climate, you might want to consider more shade to keep them happy.

Watering and Fertilizing :
Keeping your Annabelle hydrangeas hydrated is crucial, especially during the hot summer months. Aim to provide about an inch of water per week, and don’t be afraid to adjust based on rainfall. For fertilizing, use a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring to encourage those big blooms. I use Miracle-Gro Shake 'N Feed All Purpose Plant Food (fertilizer is linked below) Just remember, too much fertilizer can lead to fewer flowers, so don’t go overboard!
Pruning for Success
Annabelle hydrangeas bloom on new wood, which means you can prune them back in early spring before new growth begins. Cut them down to about 6 inches from the ground, and you’ll be rewarded with a bountiful display of blooms come summer. Keep in mind to remove any dead or damaged stems throughout the growing season to encourage healthier growth.
Enjoying the Blooms Once your Annabelle hydrangeas are in full bloom, there’s nothing quite like the sight of those enormous white flowers! They make stunning additions to any garden, and you can even cut them for beautiful floral arrangements indoors. So there you have it—your guide to growing big and beautiful Annabelle hydrangeas! With a little love and care, you’ll be well on your way to creating a gorgeous garden that showcases these stunning blooms. Happy gardening, everyone!
